142 for Deep Impact

The sire of Novara Park’s Staphanos Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) sired his 142nd stakes winner when the Mitsumasa Nakauchida-trained Ria Amelia won the Artemis Stakes (Gr 3, 1600m) at Tokyo yesterday leading home a quinella for the stallion. The two-year-old filly, who broke her maiden on debut at Hashin in June, beat Sanctuaire (Deep Impact) by three quarters of a length with another half a length back to Big Queen Bio (King's Best) in third.
